Designed by William Morris in 1876 as a cotton chintz, African Marigold was block-printed by Thomas Wardle using natural Prussian blue dye.
This interpretation for needlepoint recaptures the faded look of Morris's preliminary watercolour sketch which is in the collection of the William Morris Gallery at Walthamstow.

Canvas Size 20" x 20" (51cm x 51cm).

Design Size 15½" x 15½" (39cm x 39cm).

Kit contains instructions, needle, hand-printed 12 Mesh Zweigart mono De Luxe canvas and Appleton tapestry wools.
