Thea's early career included lecturing on flower arranging on the Holland-America cruise line and working as a flower photographer for a Dutch printing company. It was while teaching art at a high school in Leiden that she became interested in embroidery and was inspired to create her own designs and kits. Thea now runs a successful design and kit company from her home in Sassenheim, The Netherlands.
