The beautiful pastel colours on this English sampler are very well preserved, and this reproduction was graphed from the front of the original. Only the linen has darkened slightly over the centuries. The wide, meandering floral border is worked in a combination of cross and counted satin stitches. The verse is the 23rd Psalm ("The Lord is my shepherd...") A brilliant blue undulating border that resembles flowing water surrounds the sampler on all four sides.

Stitches used are cross (over one and two threads of linen), and counted satin.

Kit contains 35 count linen, silk or cotton thread, needle and instructions.
