Gather Ye Rosebuds While Ye May by Waterhouse

Counted cross stitch chart or kit from the Scarlet Quince Pre-Raphaelite Fine Art Collection.

John William Waterhouse (6 April 1849 — 10 February 1917) was an English Pre-Raphaelite painter most famous for his paintings of female characters from mythology and literature. He belonged to the later phase of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood.

Gather Ye Rosebuds While Ye May is an oil painting on canvas created in 1908 by British Pre-Raphaelite artist, John William Waterhouse. It was the first of two paintings inspired by the 17th century poem "To the Virgins, to Make Much of Time" by Robert Herrick which begins:

Gather ye rosebuds while ye may,
Old Time is still a-flying;
And this same flower that smiles today
Tomorrow will be dying.

Approx: 16" x 22" or 42 x 56cm - when worked on 18ct or 36ct.

You can also choose to have this design in kit form - list of DMC threads used.

There are more fine art designs by Waterhouse from the Cross Stitch Collectibles Collection.
