Gustav Klimt (July 14, 1862 – February 6, 1918) was an Austrian Symbolist painter and one of the most prominent members of the Vienna Secession movement. His major works include paintings, murals, sketches, and other art objects. Klimt's primary subject was the female body, and his works are marked by a frank eroticism.
A portion of a panel from the Stoclet Frieze of a dancing woman representing Expectation. Behind her are the curling branches of the Tree of Life. She is dressed in robes patterned with gold and multicoloured striped triangles, and wears gold bracelets and headdress. Also availoable is the chart of the full panel and Fulfillment, which makes a good companion to Expectation. (Art Noveau, 1905-9)
