Brown Compton Tapestry Chairseat
A beautiful chair seat tapestry design from the Beth Russell Designer Forum Collection.
Morris & Co produced the beautiful Compton design in 1896, as part of the furnishings for Compton Hall, Wolverhampton.
Although it was designed by his colleague Henry Dearle, it shows all the characteristics of William Morris himself, with rich colours, exotic flowers and meandering leaves. Wallpapers and fabrics featuring the Compton design are still produced by Arthur Sanderson & Sons of London - the perfect way to complete your decorative scheme.
