Abigail Gould 1796 Sampler
A sampler from The Scarlet Letter historical sampler collection.
This sampler shows a man and a woman beneath an apple tree, reminiscent of Adam and Eve, but in contemporary dress. Possibly of New York origin (the format and background suggest this), this reproduction is stitched on linen with either cotton or silk, with the background filled in entirely with wool.
Stitched entirely in cross stitch and suitable for all levels.

Linen count and finished size: 25 count, 12-1/2"x10-1/2"
